Drawing I: Still Life with Casts

This class has no available sessions. Please email us if you are interested.

A basic goal of almost any art training is to see well. One of the most effective and traditional means of accomplishing this is cast drawing. It allows the student to focus entirely on accuracy of shape and value (light and dark). The casts will be mounted on walls, and illuminated by a single stationary light source. Students will draw them using the sight-size method, which will be explained on the first day. Drawings will be finished to the highest degree of realism. The Andreeva School will supply the casts, which will be shared by pairs of students. Casts will be chosen based on the probability of finishing the drawings in the time allotted.
