Lisa Coddington

Bio

A member of the American Society of Botanical Artists, Lisa has exhibited and taught workshops nation wide. She has taught botanical art in Santa Fe at the Audubon Center and The Georgia O’Keefe Museum, Denver Botanical Gardens, The Adirondack Museum, and San Antonio, Texas.

After moving to Santa Fe from Upstate New York, Lisa continues to teach and accept private and corporate commissions. Her art has been licensed with home furnishing companies and commissioned for annual reports.

Botanical Watercolor

Lisa Coddington will introduce students to this beautiful art form. Classes combine demonstrations of watercolor glazing technique and reviewing traditional reproductions to support each step of creating a watercolor plant portrait. These classes are designed for beginning participants and those who would like to improve their basic art skills. Participants work from a live plant specimen concentrating on creating a three dimensional subject on a two dimensional surface. Lighting, drawing, composition, and paint mixing are addressed in each class.
